About the in game screen, a few things: a) The game screen looks out of place, if you use 32x32 tiles it should have fit inside the black border perfectly. b) The red selected square looks kinda out of place, make it of a dark brown like the one in the location bar or make it black. c) The hp,mp,st and exp bar are one pixel down an one to the right, so you should move it. About the main menu, send it to me on msn and ill make some retouches, and the splash screen is awsome |

Yeah, I must have cut a tiny bit off those bars at the bottom and right, if they're moved it looks worse, but i'll sort that out. I've also made some background images for the options and biography windows too. I was thinking about sending you the PSD files for the rest of the windows. Most of the other windows use the same template as the main menu interface, so it's up to you if you want to change those also. There's still some bits and bobs that need some work but I'd say it's coming along really well. The only trouble I'm having with the main interface at the moment is that i've had to make the height of the picScreen shorter, and the character dissappears off screen to the bottom. I've tried adjusting this in the source but it doesn't seem to work properly, so i'll get somebody to help me with that. The splash screen is pretty cool, it comes up strait away and plays a little jingle before going onto the main menu, with my originally scored music. I can't remember how to blit those "Item selected" boxes properly, but i'll work it out later. You'll probably find that the background will be black anyway when an item selected so the background colour doesn't matter too much as you'll only really see it once until you select an item, it won't change back after that. I've managed to get the gradual fade for the alphablending, to represent an almost realise day/night change over. So it goes from day to night gradually rather than immediately, with a nice darkness colour rather than the shitty blue you see on Elysium. I'm gunna try and get Mitch to work with some directX, he reckons it should be too difficult for him to convert the engine to DX8, but I don't know anything about that. Somebody also mentioned something about WinSock2, which I believe is worth looking into. I've been working on the website this morning which so far matches the interface of the game. Not yet finished and I'll probably make tons of changes to make it look better. Click my sig to see. |

Alphablending is quite possible in DirectX7. No need to convert to DirectX8 just for that. |

First picture has a 3d game as a background. the engine is 2d. Seems like a bit of a set-off to me |

It doesn't have a 3D game as the background, it has a 3D image. You're not going to download a 2D game, see a 3D image and say "Holy shiz, f00ld!" Yeah, I already have alphablending working now with DirectX 7 The purpose of converting to DirectX 8 is to open more doors. Gawd I lurve partical effects |

You really think they'll make the difference that a 3D image(which looks like it came straight out of NWN2) isn't a glimpse of the actual abilities of the engine? There are such out there. |

I agree with Red. If I didn't know this was made in MS, my first impression would be that PR is a 3D version of PW. To be honest. |

Give the PicScreen a 1px border and then shift it 1px left and 1px up, will fit perfectly. |
