Post subject:  Need a programmer for a few things. Paying

Our project is called Eros, there's some info on Chaos and Online Game core as well as our website (www.nighthawkdev.net) The game is completely custom graphics with a spell system like that of World of Warcraft or many other mmos. That's already coded in but there's a few features I have tried and failed to implement. We are using Mirage Source.

So here's the list:

Seamless Scrolling (With a larger map size)
Pet System
Quest System with Quest Menu
Factions (A little more complicated than the ones in the tutorials)
Paperdoll (Might have it done before anyone joins )
New Ranged System (Click to target and press control to attack.[like a spell])

They are all pretty big features, but we hope to be making a pretty big game. If you are willing to do just one that would be awesome if you want to do them all that would be even more awesome. We can pay a little for your contribution. (I would like a quote first).

Thank You

Stealth / Robert Long
Nighthawk Dev CEO

P.S. If anyone does 3d games I have a project with 18 staff members already and could use 2 more positions filled. (C++ Programmers/Modelers/level designers/Texture Artists/Classical Music Artists/etc...)

I'll do Ranged, Paperdoll, and Factions for $125 USD, subject to change with details of the project.

If you can throw in scrolling doesn't have to be seamless and bring it down to $100 you got a deal. I can tell you that factions isn't very hard. I would just like a tile that you step on and it brings up a menu to choose from one of two factions and put the variable (0 for no faction, 1 for faction 1 and 2 for faction 2) in a players account file. Faction map types would be nice if you could make it so that faction members cant attack faction members. I think I explained ranged well and paper doll I can do myself now so I would like a visual bank instead.

Please negotiate if you need to but I think $100 is fair for at least 3 features considering 2 have never been done.

My msn is fxdabob@hotmail.com we can talk further on there.

All those features have been done before not perfectly but they have been done

uh huh Im sure I used it in a old game engine I used to use
but now after really reading about your faction system I cant say I have ever seen the step on a tile to choose your faction thing used before :D

Yeah we just want the player to be able to pick the faction after finishing a starting world instead of having to pick in the character creation screen. That way you get a little taste of each faction.

Sounds cool by the way since you have got a team of 18 people why dont you make a new engine from scratch for your game or get them to help you program this game

Thats a 3D MMORPG Game using Torque Game Engine Advanced. They don't know VB6 but some can do a hell of a job with C++.

So why dont you write a engine using C++ or are you just really doing this for as a bit of a hobby not work

I can have range and factions done in 2 days for $75 USD. Pay by Paypal; 50% up front and 50% upon timely completion of the project.

I would need to talk to you before starting about the details...

I have never done banks before, especially not visual, so it may take longer, and there are so many ways to do this that I can not simply quote it without discussing in detail what you want.

I use GTalk, but you're the boss so I'll use MSN if I need to :P

Edit: I will put in the scrolling code I just created for Mirage Source 2.44 for an additional $10

Scrolling
Slide-Scrolling maps identical to the ones I implemented in MSE2.44

Factions
Two hard coded factions
Is this faction select tile going to be something common? If yes, attribute. If no, hard coded.
A faction map moral, or do you want it so you can not attack faction members anywhere?
For Faction select, I envision a form popup with radio buttons to select and push button to confirm. Pictures for pretty-ness.

Ranged:
Click to target, control to shoot ranged weapons.
Requires adding a "ranged" weapon type, attributes for it, packet communication, saving, loading, etc.etc..
Damage formulas will not be my responsibility.
Do they use an ammo? Do they draw to the screen when they shoot? Can they only shoot in straight lines, or diagonal too?

these questions will effect my quote ;D I made my "best guess" for the quote

Does the scrolling stop at the edges? (No black when reaching sides)
Faction tile is used once. So whatever you want to do. But I would like to edit all the graphics in it to look good and provide descriptions of each faction.

The map morals would be completly recoded as follows:
Neutral (No pvp of any kind)
Faction PvP (Players of different factions can attack each other)
Free For All (Everyone can be attacked)

Ranged is all right. I added you to gtalk. Ill be on in the morning.

Thanks

There are tuts for all of these I believe.

Aside for Factions maybe, but that's so easy, I could do it in my sleep. -_-

Well I, just don't have time. This project is just a kind effort to help my brother with his game. I do a little work here and there but I really need someone to finish the engine or become part of the team. I will pay a full $100 for anyone who will stay on the team and do what they can to release it. That way you are being paid, a little less per feature perhaps, but everything gets done and bugs get worked out and this game gets released.

Now if no one wants to join the team which I kinda assumed they wouldn't my only option is to pay per feature instead of the whole project being completed.

I'm only 15 years old so money is hard to get and I have a billion things I want to do with it, so every dollar counts, I'm looking for the cheapest and most well done solution. So far Dave is the best option.

The best option is to go through the feature tutorial section and do this yourself, for free.

Everyone here will help you if you try yourself and get an error.

Factions can be simulated with the class system.

Perfekt is also in the plot. Robin and Perfekt scammed me for $1,000,000 before.

It is unlikely Robin will scam you.

It is likely you will get messy as hell (and probably buggy) code from him :D

Messy? Yes. Buggy? No.

The only time I get buggy code is in my own projects, when I'm trying new things xD

Robin you did not come through with this deal. I have payed $50 up front and received nothing in return. I have tried numerous times to contact you, and now your website is down. If you want to scam me out of $50 go ahead, but its so low of you to do this.

You said in the other thread that you got your money back.
