It's the number of the player in use. |

Server doesn't have an index. I think it does start at 1, I really can't remember, there's rarely any reason you'd need to know the number itself, everything is in context. |

The index is the number that is temporarily assigned to a player currently online. The player will keep the same index number as long as they are connected to the server. anytime you need to do something to a player (such as change a stat or get an update) you use their index number. The client stores the individual's index as MyIndex, and everyone else is usually a single letter variable, such as n. The index number is only temporary, so if the server restarts or the player logs off and back on again they receive a new index based on the order in which they got on the server compared to other players. |
