It all depends on how you want to go about doing it. If you want to alphablend the blt channels you'll need to convert to directX8. If you want something like cloud cover you'd have to create an extra fringe layer and make it transparent by either using alpha blending or just making a semi-transparent cloud (every other pixel is transparent like a checkerboard.) |

Obviously the second, and you don't need to do anything. |

You can get a "fog" effect by mapping a cloud onto the fringe layer that has holes in it, like Asrrin suggested. You don't NEED to convert to DX8 to alphablend, but if you use DX7 you'll want to pre-render the layers, or employ some heavy dirty rectangling to reduce the size of the drawn area. |

We just told you, you don't need code. Simply place a checker-board style fog sprite in the fringe layer. |

Or make a fog layer ontop of everything that is specifically for fog. |

He obviously can't do that himself. |

No it wasn't! You ran into a problem and asked me to look into it. Most people on these forums have had me help them with some code at some point. |

I use Robin as a sounding board more then anything. He's been tons of help in figuring out alot of things, but for most of the bugs I encounter while debugging, I end up asking him and then fixing it as I ask him. It's always good to talk to someone because you get a fresh perspective. |
