Wow I haven't been here in a while, and I've got NO idea if I'm even posting in the right place, so a mod can feel free to move this if it's wrong. But how in the world do you open a port on a wireless router? I have a Belkin WIreless G+ MIMO router, and I've tried a few things, including looking through the setting, I get as far as a page that looks like this: ![]() (you'll have to view the whole image, not just this part of it) But I can't put in the public IP, and when I fill in the last number, all it lets me change, as my number for this computer, it doesn't work, even when I have the port set up correctly. Any ideas? |

Why would you use your public IP? That makes no sense at all. A router accepts one connection and splits it up between multiple other connections, allowing them to share the resource. Forwarding a port tells the router that a connection from the external port from the outside world, coming into this router, should go to this device (defined by the internal IP usually) to this port. So find out your internal address, put that as the private IP (starts with 192.168.2. in your case, which is what the page filled out for you), the port you're using (probably same for both) then click enable. |

I filled in the last number that's set to my PC, and set the port to 6000(game port) for all 4 of the settings, and clicked enable, but it didn't work. Yet when I plug my PC up to the modem directly without the router, it works.... |
