Matt, If you are that addicted, you will make another account anyway. Askign to be banned is a request for attention more than anything. You can delete a bookmark/favorite and you can even block sites these days. It all comes down to self control. And visiting a forum like this provides very little ... |

[edit] figured it out. Dont know why I thought they would make a vb6 like java and not let you use the java fr... |

This is the way Mirage Source should go. Free IDE that compiles to cross platform java bytecode from VB6 style code. Almsot all aspects are like VB6, except its Object Orientation ACTUALLY WORKS! I played with this, started making mirage work in it, it is awesome. The minor problem is no more Micro$... |

I think c++ sucks for native GUI. but if you use a good GUI library then it can be fun.
Then again, maybe its just cause windows sucks. |

Java is probably your best bet for cross platform support unless you write in pure C or C++. |

Use a timer class instead of timers. It doesn't really matter in VB, it is all slow (death to VB!) Joost is righ... |

An engine is something that is transplantable with little or no effort ftw. If all of Mriages code was in a single class or module that provided an easy to use interface for doing most things DX then it would be an engine. Mirage provides no way for dynamics, everything is static, and we draw to a s... |

You can make ActiveX components in VB6. Make an activeX component that fnctions as the tab block for chat, that way when a new chat is opened, it makes a new tab with its own textbox, but they all use the same input box. Read up on ActiveX controls, they can be really helpful and people neglect them. |
